Customers have urged Nokia to deliver a PDA device which competes with the monopolising Blackberry, and they have delivered. If you're looking for disappointment you won't find it here.
The Nokia E71 is the perfect competitor and has a few bells and whistles which help to put the E71 in a good position to compete.
The tortoise has entered the race and will pick up pace down a very big hill into a specialist market - and could clean up! "Why?" you might ask.
Well it's simple, the slick design and colours of bright white and chrome grey set it apart from others to start with, not to mention the amount of functionality packed into the smallest of areas, with a great interface experience.
What more can I say? Quite a lot - being a quad band phone the Nokia E71 can be taken all over the world just about, keeping you in contact wherever you go.
The Nokia E71 on the email front supports both POP3 and IMAP4 protocols for mail exchange, with a very easy set up. HTML will be next we're sure. Reading email is simple because of the screen size and font for mail.
Replying is easy to do as well, due to the ergonomic QWERTY keyboard, so the main purpose of the device meets and exceeds all expectation.
In addition to all this the Nokia E71 has both an internal memory and also a MicroSD expandable memory slot, the E71 lends itself well to taking pictures with the 3.2 mega pixel camera (with digital zoom) and storing them, as well being able to use the MicroSD cards to store music, with the functionality of an multi-formatted music player built in.
With all fully functional phones you would expect the battery life to waiver, and yet the battery holds its own and is comparable with the best of them.
Finally, with Nokia E71, the Bluetooth compatibility allows for hands free and data connectivity functionality, and so as a business or social device, it appears to be a winner amongst the Nokia E71 competitor range.
